Lace-up Blouse and OTK Boots: Part One

Happy Friday! I am unbelievably grateful it’s finally the weekend because this week has seen some major lows. A.k.a my bedroom light kept turning on and off by itself randomly (Supernatural anyone?), all the hate circulating the country right now, I got cookies only to realize I had no milk, a huge Christmas present I was excited to give was shot down, and I lost all my Snapchat streaks. #FirstWorldProblems

Two good things did come out of this week though: I got a huge hit of writing inspiration and I got to have a full fledged photoshoot with my friend! And by full fledged I mean turning a car into a dressing room and switching shirts in the middle of a forest.

Just casual things.

Trying to look graceful is real hard y’all. And is it just me or does the shirt and the foggy forest give them a witchy vibe? Modern Hocus Pocus anyone?

I got these boots on sale for less than $50, and I have a love hate relationship with them.

I had to go a size up in them because my calves are apparently too big (never thought I would have to say that), and while they are comfy to walk in at first, they start to hurt the balls of your feet if you wear them all day around campus.

Definitely reserved for days requiring limited walking.

I realized with the tall boots and bell sleeves I could also classify this as a 70’s inspired outfit, so I had to throw up my signature peace sign.

Peace signs have always been my default setting. One time in high school, a teacher said hi to me in the hallway and I panicked and threw up a peace sign. Mortifying.

This kind of shirt is usually filed under “boho” for me, and that is not my style at all. But then I realized the style of shirt is also very pirate-esqe, one of my obsessions, and now I want a closet full of them! I’m lusting over the ruffle front one I linked.

The one I wore for these picture isn’t actually mine, it’s my good friend Kylie’s! Speaking of which, next week’s Fashion Friday post is going to be how she styled the shirt! I’m so excited to share her outfit with y’all because I’m in love with the pictures I took of her!

Do you like the boho style? Are you a fan of these pirate inspired shirts? Am I the only one with a thing for peace signs? What does this outfit remind you of: a pirate, a witch, the 70s, or something completely different? Let me know in the comments below!
